I just finished reading John Maxwell’s book on leadership Talent is Never Enough and here are 13 practical takeaways:
- Belief lifts my talent.
- Passion energizes my talent.
- Initiative activates my talent.
- Focus directs my talent.
- Preparation positions my talent.
- Practice sharpens my talent.
- Perseverance sustains my talent.
- Courage tests my talent.
- Teachability expands my talent.
- Character protects my talent.
- Relationships influence my talent.
- Responsibility strengthens my talent.
- Teamwork multiplies my talent.
Leaders fail when they rely only on TALENT to achieve the goals for the organizations that they lead. This approach will work in the short term but as growth and success come organizations will reach their ceiling much to soon without moving past innate ability. Growth in the bottom line will only come with growth in the leaders making the decisions!
